Use these steps, when migrating a metal from another POS to SMRT, or to issue a full reset for any other reason such as metal database corruption. No matter what's wrong with the metal database, these steps should always put it back in a good state.
- Stop scanning.
- Quit MAP completely (do not turn off autobagger nor conveyor)
- In SMRT, log out of the SMRT metal program in the top right corner. Password is "metalpro".
- Empty the conveyor.
- Go to C:\METALPRO\DATA\MAP , make a copy of MAP with today’s timestamp
- Go into the original MAP folder, move all files to trash except those listed below. Keep all folders
- LFD.DBF (if you have the autobagger)
- MAG.DBF
- PCS.DBF
- SYS.DBF
- Go to Admin -> Assembly in SMRT. Find the right metal conveyor, and push reset database.
- After about a minute, you should get a message that the database has been reset with x pieces.
- Close that dialog and press "Run Metalprogetti Agent" to start the SMRT metal program again.
- Start MAP again, make sure it synchronizes. Make sure there's nothing hanging on the metal.
- Watch the SMRT metal terminal. You should be seeing a bunch of item barcode updates, after a couple of minutes those should calm down and you should be ready to scan.
